The Minister for Public Expenditure says he's open to looking at extra funding for interim flood measures to be put in place in Midleton.
Delegates from The Midleton and East Cork Flood Protection group went to the Dáil yesterday to represent around 500 homes and 250 businesses that flooded during Storm Babet.
The group say there's constant fears that the area will flood again and are calling on the Government to put protections in place while they wait for a flood relief scheme.
Speaking to RedFM News, Minister for Public Expenditure Paschal Donohoe says although a flood relief scheme is needed, that Government will look into interim measures:
"Unfortunately though it can sometimes be the case that the only schemes that can make a difference are the bigger flood relief schemes but I'm sure we can look at can other steps be taken."
