Motorists are being warned to watch out for icy patches on the roads this morning.

A status yellow low temperature-ice warning is in place for Cork as well as the entire country until 11am

It'll lead to difficult travelling conditions, with the cold snap set to last for the week.

Road Safety Authority spokesperson David Martin has this advice for drivers:

"Before you set off in the morning and we've all been prone to this and I know I have in the past is clear your windows and mirrors of any ice and carry a screen scraper and de-icer to make sure that you've got a clear view rather than getting the credit card out or rushing out to get some you know filling the kettle or whatever."
