According to reports, South Park creators  Trey Parker and Matt Stone will release 14 new movies based on the adult animated series in a deal worth $900 million - one of the biggest deals in TV history.

The deal means that the show will remain on Comedy Central for at least another six years along with two films due to be released on the Paramount+ streaming platform in 2021 and plans to premiere two more films per year until 2027.

Chris McCarthy, President/CEO of MTV Entertainment & CCO/Adult Animation at Paramount+ spoke about the apparent deal saying, "Matt and Trey are world-class creatives who brilliantly use their outrageous humour to skewer the absurdities of our culture and we are excited to expand and deepen our long relationship with them to help fuel Paramount+ and Comedy Central.

"Franchising marquee content like South Park and developing new IP with tremendous talent like Matt and Trey, is at the heart of our strategy to continue growing Paramount+."

Creators of the show, Parker and Stone said, "We can't wait to get back to doing traditional South Park episodes but now we can also try out new formats. It's great to have partners who will always take a chance with us."

The show began in 1997 and follows the lives  and adventures of Stan, Kyle, Eric and Kenny - four foul-mouthed kids who live in South Park.
