Fassbender is also encouraging acting talent in his hometown after applying for planning to open an acting school in Killarney. The application received by Kerry County Council requests to open "an acting school" at West End House in the town which is owned by the Fassbender family. The application was submitted by Michael's father Josef Fassbender who previously ran a restaurant and guest house in the location with his wife Adele before retiring in 2009. The actor's parents still live in the Killarney area.
Michael Fassbender and his actress wife Alicia Vikander are based in Lisbon with their new baby.
