The Oscars have been pushed back eight weeks, because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Academy Awards will now be held in April, instead of February.
Officials have also decided to extend their eligibly window.
Senior film awards editor for Variety magazine Marc Malkin, says that might give films that had to pause production a fighting chance.
"A lot of films didn't think they'd be able to make it in time for a 2021 Oscar run.
"So instead of a film having to have to come out by December 31st, it now has until February 28th to hit theatres."
