The third instalment of the Fantastic Beasts movies has been given a title and a release date.
Warner Bros studios has announced that Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore will be available in cinemas in April 2022. This is good news for fans as the film was previously listed to launch three months later in July of 2022 so there's less time to wait!
The Fantastic Beasts movie series is a spin-off of Harry Potter starring Eddie Redmayne, with two more films in the franchise in the works. The third film will see Redmayne return as Newt Scamander who will join forces with Albus Dumbledore, played by Jude Law, to take on the evil wizard Gellert Grindelwald.
Grindelwald was played by Johnny Depp but his role has been replaced by Mads Mikkelsen after Depp left the movie franchise after losing his High Court case against his ex-wife Amber Heard.
David Yates returns as director of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore after previously directing the first two films in the franchise as well as four of the Harry Potter movies.
Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Ezra Willer and Callum Turner will also star in the upcoming film.
