A murder investigation has been launched following the discovery of a 19-year-old man's body in Co. Meath.
At half 8 yesterday morning, Conor O'Brien, originally from Gorey in Wexford, was found dead at the back of an apartment on the Trim Road in Enfield.
His remains were taken to Our Lady's Hospital in Navan for a post-mortem examination, which shows he suffered a fatal gunshot wound.
A number of people heard a single ‘bang’ on Thursday evening but no gun has been found at the scene.
Superintendent and Garda Press Officer Liam Geraghty says they are appealing for witnesses:
"Any person that was on the Trim Road, Enfield (R159) at or close to its junction with Main Street, Enfield between 8pm on Thursday, 26th of August, and 7am, Friday, 27th of August, whether you believe you saw anything or not, please make contact with the investigating Gardaí."
