A murder investigation is underway after a 33 year old chef was attacked with a samurai sword in Cobh last Friday.
It's understood a number of searches have been conducted across Cobh and the Cork Harbour area, as detectives search for a 'specific' individual, and the weapon used in the attack.
Ian Baitson died from his wounds in Hospital, after being attacked in the forecourt of a supermarket, just before 9pm last Friday night.
It's believed the weapon used was a broad edged knife, similar to a samurai ceremonial sword.
Preliminary post mortem results were presented to Gardaí late yesterday, but are not being released for operational reasons.
