Irish charts company IRMA have released their top 50 list of the biggest singles and albums in Irish music in 2021.
Ed Sheeran has unsurprisingly claimed the biggest hit of the year with ‘Bad Habits’ clocking up 140,000 sales and a massive 18.6 million streams. The track spent 11 weeks at the top of Irish singles chart, which helped the singer remain at the number 1 spot for a total of 18 weeks with his duet ‘Merry Christmas’ with Elton also reaching number 1 in 2021.
The IRMA also released Olivia Rodrigo’s album ‘Sour’ took the place for number one album in 2021. The teenage sensations album outsold established artists such as Adele, Dua Lipa and Abba to claim the number one Irish album in 2021.
