As we all know Ireland has been having a bit of a drought when it comes to Eurovision victory since winning seven times, the last in 1996.
In recent years our best contenders were Jedward and Ryan O'Shaughnessy who made it out of the semi finals but didn't manage to secure the top spot.
This year's Eurovision will take place in Turin in Italy following Måneskin's win last year in The Netherlands. The hosts for this year's show were announced last night as pop star Mika along with Laura Pausini and Alessandro Catellan.

Ireland have been placed to take part in the second half of the second semi final on May 12th alongside Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania and Sweden while the grand final will take place on May 14th.
This year six contenders are bidding to represent Ireland in the song contest out of 300 initial entires. All six acts will perform their songs on The Late Late Show tomorrow night, February 4th, in the hopes of progressing to the main event in Italy. The song will be chosen by a combination of National jury, International jury and a public vote.

Rachel Goode - I'm Loving Me
Composers: Joakim Övrenius / Thomas Karlsson / Johan Mauritzson / Anna Engh
Rachel is a classically trained ringer from Ballinasloe, County Galway and has performed in major venues such as the National Concert Hall and the Bord Gais Energy Theatre.
Brendan Murray - Real Love
Composers: Brendan Murray / Darrell Coyle
You may recognise Brendan Murray as a previous Eurovision contestant when he represented Ireland in Kyiv with his song Dying To Try in 2017. His failure to get into the finals hasn't deterred him from trying again as he bids to represent the country once again in Italy. Brendan was also a member of the boyband HomeTown as well as a contestant on The X Factor, finishing 5th.
Miles Graham - Yeah We’re Gonna Get Out Of It

Miles Graham is a singer/songwriter from Clondalkin in Dublin. He has released several dance collaborations and has previously appeared on The Late Late Show in 2018.
Janet Grogan - Ashes of Yesterday
Brooke Scullion - That's Rich

Brooke Scullion appeared in the 2020 edition of The Voice UK and was mentored by Grammy award winner Meghan Trainor as well as duetting with Ella Eyre. Her songs have been recognised by BBC Introducing and also top Spotify playlists.
Patrick O'Sullivan - One Night, One Kiss, One Promise

Cork man Patrick O'Sullivan is the final contender to represent Ireland at this year's Eurovision. Patrick has a Musical Theatre degree from The Arts Educational Schools in London where he received a scholarship to study there, awarded by the principal - Andrew Lloyd Webber!
Since graduating in 2015 Patrick went on to star in West End musicals including Carrie, The Book of Mormon and worked directly with the recently deceased Meat Loaf on the production of Bat Out of Hell The Musical.
You may also recognise Patrick from winning the recent RTE singing contest, Last Singer Standing.
Patrick's song for the Eurovision, One Night, One Kiss, One Promise, was written by Nicky Byrne of Westlife, Lar Kaye of All Tvvins and Danny O'Reilly of The Coronas.
