1,500 Ukrainian refugees will have to move from student accommodation in the next four to five weeks.
It comes as pressure continues on the state to provide homes for those fleeing the conflict with Russia.
Liam O'Dwyer, the secretary-general of the Irish Red Cross, hopes pledged accommodation can play a role in dealing with demand in the coming weeks:
"We have 1500 people in student accommodation and we have been briefed to move people out of student accommodation over the next, ultimately the next four to five weeks."
