2022 is officially the worst year for hospital overcrowding on record, according to the INMO.
624 patients are without a bed in Irish hospitals today, with Cork University Hospital the second most overcrowded in the country with 67 patients being treated on trolleys.
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation says the latest figures are extremely concerning, with no sign of pressure easing in our emergency departments.
The hospitals experiencing the worst overcrowding this year are University Hospital Limerick, Cork University Hospital, and Galway University Hospital.
