Forty percent of people have expressed discomfort in discussing or considering palliative care as they associate it with end of life.

Research conducted by the All Ireland Institute of Hospice and Palliative care, involved over a thousand people.

The study shows adults are now less inclined to address the topic than they were in 2016.

Director of AIIHPC Karen Charnley wants to raise awareness during Palliative Care Week:

"Palliative care is so much more than the last days of life. It's available for people of all stages of illness as well as people of all ages. What we're trying to do is promote the benefits of palliative care and raise awareness that it isn't just those that end of life".
