50% More People Have Bought Their Turkey Compared With This Time Last Year

According to Kantar 50% more people have secured their Christmas turkey compared to the same time last year.

Sales of mince pies are also up 36.8 percent.

But it wasn't a great Halloween for supermarkets with sales of multi-packs of sweets down 40 percent compared with last year -  with pumpkin sales down 15.5 percent.

Over the three months between August and November, Grocery sales increased by 14.4 percent

That went up to 18.8 percent in the last four weeks as a result of level 5 restrictions - with online sales up 90 percent in this period.
