A new survey shows six in ten Irish people still want access to face-to-face banking.
The study by the Credit Union Development Association, found customers still want to be able to go into their local branch, despite many services being offered online.
The survey also found 54% of those who opened a savings account preferred to do so with in-person support.
CEO of the Credit Union Development Association, Kevin Johnson, says customers across a wide range of ages preferred in-person services:
"It certainly indicates how important face to face interaction is that is with the public when it comes to the general financial services. I think what was really interesting was that it wasn't specific to any one product, this was looking at savings current accounts, personal loans, mortgages, and it showed in all of them that people still wanted that personal touch."
