650 Post Leaving Cert Courses and a free guidance counsellor helpline are among the updates to the CAO website.
The website, which relaunches today at 12pm, allows students to apply for apprenticeships for the first time ever.
Minister for Higher Education Simon Harris says the stigma around PLCs and apprenticeships is fading:
"It's okay not to know with great certainty what you want to do. What's the hard in taking a year to find out. From a cost point of view, from a location point of view, the benefit of the ETB is that they are in every town and village in Ireland. You can actually take the year and say I think I'd like to do law, I live in Cavan, in Cavan I'm going to do a year of pre-law and sample it and then see if it's for me."
