A 67 year old man has been charged with numerous offences under the animal welfare act.
Mr Moroney and his 5 co-accused are due to appear before the Central Criminal Court again on November 5th.
Kacey O'Riordan reports for RedFM News:
"Donal Moroney, who did not appear in person, has been charged with nine offences in total all of which are alleged to have taken place between the 24th and 29th of July 2020.
They include permitting a controlled drug to be administered causing unnecessary suffering to two dogs at Ashtown Pound, Castleknock.
Under the animal welfare act, a vet must administer the drug necessary to euthanize an animal.
Gardaí allege the accused allowed a layperson to administer the drug.
Mr Moroney is also charged with two counts of obstructing a Garda who was investigating the treatment and deaths of dogs at the pound.
One charge relates to failing to comply with the Garda's requirement that a vet be called for fawn coloured akita.
5 other people have been charged in relation to this matter. All 6 accused are to appear before the Central Criminal Court again on November 5th.
