75 reports of sexual harassment have been made to colleges and universities over the last five years.
Freedom of Information figures show 10 staff and students have either been fined, suspended or expelled following an allegation between 2015 and 2020.
But there’s concern colleges are failing to capture the extent of the problem and the true figures are much higher.
Maeve, a student in Cork, says harassment is a common experience for a lot of people who go to college.
"I suppose incidents were like at the time, maybe it does seem quite small and it seems like it's just maybe a catcall, or kind of inappropriate grabbing one on a night out.
"But I do think kind of over the years, you kind of come to realise that all of these small acts don't exist in a vacuum, they kind of do contribute to a culutre where maybe some people think this is ok."
