That's according to CEO of Fresh Today Ray Nangle

He was reacting to the news that Deis school students in Cork and across Ireland are to benefit from a free hot dinner every lunchtime from 2021.

Following a pilot scheme of 36 primary schools during the last academic year, the Government has announced over 5.5 million euro in funding to supply the meals across the country.

In total, over 36,000 pupils, including thousands here in Cork, are set to benefit from the scheme.

Speaking to RedFM News, Ray Nangle says the students and the parents can sit down together and plan their meals in advance:

'Kids will actually order exactly what they want online, you can go online and say give me a roast beef dinner on a Monday, and give me the beef stroganoff on a Tuesday and a roast chicken dinner on a Wednesday. That meal comes into the school cold in the morning, and then it's put into one of our specially regenerated ovens by one of our Fresh Today members of staff. It's served hot into the classroom just before lunchtime and the kids get to eat a lovely nutritious meal, which the benefits for them is great so it is.'
