It happened in Limerick on Thursday night
The man was arrested after a car that failed to stop was pursued by Gardaí from the Ballynanty area into Co.Clare.
An object that was thrown from the car was later found to be a firearm.
The man in his 30s is due before a special sitting of Nenagh District Court at 6 o'clock this evening.
