It's after armed gardaí caught him with a loaded gun in a cabin at the back of a house in Dublin
Trevor Byrne, of Cappagh Road, Finglas, Dublin 11, also had just over €3,000 in his pocket when the house was raided on November 15th last year.
He claimed he only had the gun because there was a threat on his life at the time, but gardaí believed it was to be used in a gangland hit.
