An addiction expert has warned of Ireland's major problem with drug and alcohol use among young people since the Covid pandemic.
Statistics released yesterday showed a 50% increase in the use of illegal drugs in the UK, with 1 in 3 16 - 25 year olds using them in the past year.
Dr. Garrett McGovern, medical director at the Priority Medical Clinic in Dundrum in Dublin, says lockdown has had a negative effect on people.
