Older people are significantly vulnerable to financial abuse post pandemic, Age Action has warned.
The charity says many older people handed over their finances to loved-ones during lockdowns, when banking moved more online.
It comes as new Trinity College research published today found that well-being scores dropped among older people during the pandemic, especially among women over 70.
Head of Advocacy at Age Action Celine Clarke says many people are struggling to regain their financial independence:
"Some people will have handed over control of collecting their pension to people on their behalf because they didn't want to go out to the post office. They couldn't bank digitally, so they handed over control and some people haven't been able to regain that control back over there financial affairs and so we'd have a particular concern about potential financial abuse."
