It's after five cases among wild birds in the Republic, and two in the North, since the beginning of last month.
Ministers from both sides of the border have taken new measures to prevent it spreading any further.
Minister Charlie McConalogue says there's a risk to poultry flocks throughout the country.
"That's very concerning because of bird flu gets into a commercial flock it's very disruptive all together so I've moved along with my northern counterpart to ensure we bring in additional measures to improve the biosecurity of our commercial flocks. We're actually introducing an exclusion zones for all commercial flocks north and south meaning that only those who have to be close to it will be close to the flocks."
