Give your body time to recover, that's the advice from Alcohol Action Ireland this new year's day.
The organisation says alcohol usage tends to spike during the festive season.
A previous study by AAI revealed a 93 per cent increase in home drinking since the pandemic.
Eunan McKinney says now is a good time to take a break from drinking:
"Try to give your body a chance to recover. Try to at least give it a couple of days free from alcohol before you maybe considering drinking again. And, I think, that that gives your body an opportunity to at least process much of what is the harmful aspects of alcohol, and gives you a sense of being able to begin again."
