Maintaining current access to abortion is the most popular option, with almost half of voters backing the status quo.
That's according to an Irish Times/Ipsos poll, which also finds 25 per cent believe there should be easier access, with 6 per cent arguing it should be more difficult.
One in ten respondents say abortion services should not be available in Ireland.
At the moment, abortion is permitted up to 12 weeks, or after 12 weeks in cases of a threat to the life or health of the mother, or fatal foetal abnormalities.
