The army bomb squad was called to a Dublin Garda Station after a device was brought in by a member of the public.
The station is temporarily closed this afternoon.
Earlier today a person entered Balbriggan Garda Station with what's been described as a 'historic device'.
It's unknown if the object is viable.
The Garda station was closed as a precaution while members of the Defence Forces' bomb disposal unit were called to investigate the incident.
Gardaí say the station remains closed this afternoon.
