The average price of a pint is now more than €6 nationwide.
Figures from the Central Statistics Office show the average pint of lager has gone up 50c in the last year.
Those trying to save money by drinking at home are also being affected with the cost of cans of beer up 19c.
September was the 24th month in a row that inflation rates were above 5 per cent in Ireland.
