Banks have seen a switch over the years to more mobile banking.
It comes as consumers have swapped habits with a 41 percent increase in online shopping in 2021, according to PayPal.
Brian Hayes from the Banking and Payments Federation says banks have tried to adapt to changing needs:
"The big movement has been away from branch oriented transactions towards digital and online transactions. So for instance, if you look at the stats in the last five years the reduction in over the counter transaction is down by 70%. And there has been a 65% increase on digital platforms in terms of people using wallets, their e-wallets, people using their iPhones, people using the digital offerings that are there for various banks."
