A senior Fianna Fáil TD has said the Katherine Zappone affair is the last chance for some Fine Gael Ministers.
The Dáil voted confidence in Simon Coveney last night despite his handling of the controversy around the appointment of Katherine Zappone as a UN Special Envoy.
However, TD Marc MacSharry has resigned from the Fianna Fáil Parliamentary Party after saying he couldn't support Minister Coveney.
TD Barry Cowen says Fianna Fáil is far from united behind their Government colleagues.
"Minister Coveney has apologised, and so too has the Tánaiste.
"But let's be fair, there isn't unanimous, absolute or wholesome confidence in the Minister, especially in the way he handled this issue, within Fianna Fáil.
"But I expect that the whole sorry episode may well represent the last chance moment for all concerned."
