A community has been left in shock after the death of a baby in North Belfast last night.
A murder investigation has been launched into the child's death, which happened at a house in the Brompton Park area of Ardoyne, while a second child is being treated in intensive care.
A 29 year old woman has been arrested by the PSNI on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
Local People Before Profit Councillor Fiona Ferguson told BBC Radio Ulster residents are feeling a 'wave of grief and shock' over the incident.
"It's difficult to grapple with these things because they play out so publicly.
"I think a lot of people because of that felt that wave of grief and shock last night and I do think that this is something because of the nature of it, because of the way we're learning about this - almost live - is something that will take some time to get over."
