A body has been recovered off the coast of Donegal.
It follows an alleged assault in a popular tourist spot last weekend.
Gardai have been investigating this case for the past week following an alleged assault near the popular tourist area of Killybegs and Slieve League.
A man and a woman were arrested early last week but were later released without charge.
This morning gardai made a significant breakthrough in the case with the discovery of a body in the water at Slieve League.
The remains have been removed to Letterkenny University Hospital for a post mortem exam.
Gardai are contining to appeal for anyone who was in the Killybegs/Slieve League area over the weekend of the 24th and 25th of June and saw anything to come forward.
An incident room has been set in Ballyshannon Garda Station.
