A precautionary boil water notice for over 20,000 Uisce Eireann Customers in Cork on the Glashaboy Public Water Treatment Plant comes into effect at midnight tonight.
The warning affects customers in Glanmire, Glounthaune, Little Island and Carrigtwohill, and is in place due to planned industrial action, arising from a dispute between the Unite Trade Union and 8 Local Authorities, Including Cork City and Cork County Councils.
Boil water notices are also in place for parts of Tipperary and Waterford
Uisce Eireann says it'll do everything within its power to "maintain safe water services".
The strike action will run until Friday night at 17 water treatment plants.
