Broadcaster Charlie Bird has revealed he has been diagnosed with motor neurone disease.
In September, he declined two radio interviews due to having 'major issues' with his speech for the previous four months.
The journalist revealed his diagnosis in a tweet this morning.
He spent 38 years across a number of roles in RTE, before retiring in 2012.
