The Minister for Finance says he expects the budget will be announced on the second Tuesday in October.
That would mean that Budget Day would take place on the 8th of October.
There's speculation that a General Election could be held in October or November directly after the budget.
Speaking this morning, Minister Michael McGrath says while a formal date hasn't been set, they aren't expecting a drastic change:
"The budget will be at the normal time in October so in the coming weeks we'll bring a memorandum to government to confirm today that the budget but there are no plans to change the budget date from the normal period of early to mid October."
