A government TD is calling for the TV licence fee to be reduced over the GAA pay-per-view controversy.

There's anger in the sporting community over GAAGO and RTE's coverage of matches.

It's after people were forced to pay for the streaming app or miss out on key games over the last two weekends.

The service has been defended by RTE and its' operating chief.

Fine Gael TD and former Mayo Gaelic footballer, Alan Dillon, has written to Ministers asking them to reduce the licence fee by €50 over the dispute.

He says what has transpired has left a lot of people very upset.

"Certainly I think it's up to Croke Park and its officials and RTE to sit down and look at the schedule over the next few weeks.

"While understanding that we have a condensed season, I think it's crucially that the GAA ensure that there is a trust and transparency in the selection of championship games."
