There's a call for three extra bank holidays to be introduced in Ireland.
People Before Profit is making the call today, as it prepares to unveil its Bank Holiday Bill.
It wants to see people allowed to take February 1st, the last Monday in September and the last Monday in
November off.
The party's TD Richard Boyd Barrett says workers must be recognised for their hard work during the pandemic.
"Workers in this country have the least number of bank holidays, and indeed the least number of holidays almost anywhere in Europe.
"If the Government is serious about acknowledging the huge hardship and sacrifice that workers have gone through, particularly through Covid, let's give more bank holidays and increase the number of bank holidays we currently have from 9 up to at least the EU average of 12."
