Stop targeting children with junk food advertisements.
That's the call from the Irish Heart Foundation, which says marketing for unhealthy food and drink has become a 'wallpaper' in kids' lives.
The group wants online adverts for junk food banned entirely, a broadcast watershed of 9pm and the removal of that marketing from state-owned buildings.
Healthy eating specialist Dr. Eva Orsmond says parents need to examine food labels too:
"It's a big thing that advertising but we really can't forget the parents responsibility. I mean I run parent child weight loss programs in my clinics and every day I see confused parents and surprised they're into actually discovered that foods that they thought that were totally healthy, actually full of carbohydrates and sugar."
