New Government measures to restrict the sale and advertising of e-cigarettes don't go far enough to protect young people from addiction to nicotine.
Measures introduced by the Minister for Health will see the sale of e-cigarettes outlawed to under 18's, while advertising of vaping products is also being banned on public transport and near schools.
However, the Irish Heart Foundation says more needs to be done including a ban on flavours targeting children and the introduction of higher taxes on vaping products.
Director of Advocacy at the foundation Chris Macey says that vaping is a serious problem and must be addressed in a serious way.
