CAO points for nursing and midwifery could be set to drop, as the numbers applying to those courses have fallen.
New data shows they've fallen by 27%, with large drops also for pharmacy, agriculture and physiotherapy courses.
Meanwhile, applications for construction courses are up 12%, with arts and humanities also up by between 9% and 11%.
Guidance Councillor Brian Mooney says the drop in nursing follows a tough couple of years for the sector:
"The number of first preferences is down 4601 from 6297, that's down 27%, and Minister Harris has created 143 extra nursing places. So if you have more places, the points will drop there."
