Care Given To Elderly And Disabled By Those In Community Employment Schemes Should Not Be Taken For Granted

That's according to SIPTU Organiser Eddie Mullins

He was speaking as up to 500 CE supervisors stage a 24 hour strike today in a row in over pensions.

The Labour Court recommended supervisors be given occupational pensions in 2008, however the government has argued they are not public sector workers and are not entitled to the pensions.

Services like meals on wheels, care for disabled people, Tidy Towns activities and GAA Clubs may be impacted by the action if they are run on a non-voluntary basis

Speaking to RedFM News, Eddie Mullins from SIPTU says supervisors have lost patience with the lack of action:
