The Catholic Bishop of Kerry has apologized for comments made by a priest concerning same sex relationships, contraception and transgender rights.
Bishop Ray Browne issued the apology following comments made by Father Seán Sheehy at Mass in Listowel over the weekend.
Father Sheehy was covering another priest on Sunday, and referenced what he described as the lunacy of transgenderism. the sinfulness of same sex relationships.
He also hit out at what he called the 'horrible actions' of the HSE handing out condoms to teenagers.
Danny Russell from Listowel is a practising Catholic who's gay; he tells Radio Kerry he's thankful those views are in the minority:
"This isn't the right way to do things and this is not the view of everybody who's sitting in this building. Not every priest in the country feels the same way as he does thankfully."
