Substantial progress has been made on Cervical Check following a review.
Dr. Gabriel Scally has reviewed his 2018 report into the body and controversy which saw over 200 women not informed of abnormalities found in their smear test results during a 'look-back' audit.
He said this afternoon that patients want the truth, an apology, and to know it won't happen again if something goes wrong in their treatment.
Dr. Scally says there has been progress:
"We've done a wonderful job, and I think we should all be very grateful to them. The recommendations have been moved on very, very, very substantially. There is more to do, and I look forward to that being done."
