The Children's Minister is to publish the long anticipated 'Institutional Burrials Bill' on Tuesday.
The bill would allow for the excavation and exhumation of human remains on the sites of Mother and Baby Homes.
Calls for legislation grew after it was revealed that almost 800 children were believed to be buried on the grounds of the former Mother and Baby Home in Tuam.
The legislation could also allow for investigations at other sites.
Roderic O'Gorman is expected to publish the bill after Cabinet meets next Tuesday.
