Christmas lights are expected to add just under €20 to the average electricity bill.

Wizer Energy is highlighting the cost benefits of LED bulbs, with 25 metres of LED fairy lights costing only 0.0207 cent to run for 8 hours, averaging 64 cent for the month.

Meanwhile, a string of 100 older incandescent bulbs can cost you nearly 6 times more, working out at roughly 13 cent per day or €4.28 per month.
