Aslan singer Christy Dignam has been described as one of the greatest songwriters to come out of Ireland.
He passed away yesterday evening at the age of 63.
In his life, he struggled with addiction and health issues, and had cancer since 2013.
Fiachna Ó Braonáin - Musician with Hothouse Flowers - says Christy incorporated his life into his lyrics.
"The guy was a genius, really. He's one of the greatest songwriters to come out of Ireland, and I don't think he really appreciated that.
"In fact, he never thought his 'Crazy World' single, which is probably his most loved of all, was really any good. He said 'just goes to show what I know about hit songs!'
He was very, very funny, and he was very intelligent."
