Construction commenced on a record number of new homes in the past 12 months.
34,846 new homes were registered to start, the highest 12 month total since records began in 2014.
The figures come close to the 35-thousand required yearly, to meet the demand of the current housing crisis.
The Department of Housing says 2,809 commencement notices were received last month alone, which was 21 percent higher than February and 190 percent higher than the same time last year.
