The charity have released their annual report for 2019 today
It shows that 52 people were housed last year.
It comes ahead of the completion of the St Joachim & Anne's flats on Anglesea St which will enable the charity to house an additional eight people in independent housing.
Speaking to RedFM News Paul Sheehan of Cork Simon says the organisation made great strides in 2019:
'We housed 52 people in 2019 effectively one person per week. And that's the most we've ever housed in a single year. And that's a really positive impact, obviously, and among those were people who are long term homeless that's people who are stuck in emergency shelters for longer than six months. And while that number increased in 2019, we managed to host a quarter of them by the end of the year.'
