A convoy of hauliers caused traffic chaos on major routes into Dublin city on Wednesday.
The Irish Truckers and Haulage Association Against Fuel Prices, says it's planning another demonstration in the first week of December, if the government doesn't step in with support.
Member of the Rural Independent Group and TD for Cork South West, Michael Collins says ministers have a window of opportunity to resolve this crisis:
"The government leaders are so far removed from reality, that I'd be worried that there may not be a solution to this. They certainly have an opportunity between here and within the next seven days to resolve this issue, and if they don't, it will be a serious detriment to the hauliers but also serious disruption to our capital."
