A woman campaigning for the easing of partner restrictions at maternity hospitals says their backs are to the wall and that's why they are taking their campaign to Dail Eireann next month.
Linda Kelly of the #BetterMaternityCare Campaign says they have engaged with the hospitals, the HSE and the Health Minister to move this along however she says every hospital in the country is continuing to impose partner restrictions.
The group say the hospitals are not in compliance with the national HSE guidelines and the restrictions are having a devastating impact on pregnant women.
The March for Maternity is to be held on October 6th outside the Dail.
Speaking to RedFM News Linda says they have been campaigning for over 12 months now and they have never been given a clear reason as to why hospitals are not complying to the national guidelines.
"We haven't been given any credible reason. We've been campaigning on this issue for over a year now - it's the question we get asked the most, and it's the question we have no clear answer on.
"Many of the senior people in the HSE are also in NPHET, and NPHET are advising all of these changes and yet our hospitals are pursuing a completely different set of restrictions.
"There's a real question here of who's really running the hospitals, because it doesn't seem to be the HSE."
